A Mail from San Francisco

Hi!
You are not going to believe me where do I write this mail, yes it is I am in the coolest city ever SAN FRANCISCO!!! I arrived here yesterday, I go here to join a fixed gear contest. It is an amazing place but I have to go uphill and downhill way, it’s very dangerous to ride fixed gear. The weather is nice, it’s sunny and the sky looks very beautiful. Too bad you couldn’t come with me, there are a lot of cool bike stores here. You’d like it.

The first thing I do when I arrived at San Francisco I took my bag from the airport and then I build my bike, after that I go straight ahead to San Francisco Fixed Gear Festival. At the festival I met a lot of famous people from Macaframa SF and Mash SF, fyi Macaframa and Mash is the most popular fixed gear or fixie community in the world. Then Emi Brown take me to a tour around the city, I visited the Golden Gate Bridge, it is very big and I can see amazing view from there, I also visited the Chinatown, it is the oldest Chinatown in North America it is also the biggest Chinese community outside Asia they have beautiful buildings. After I finish visiting the places I went back to the hotel and get some rest.

The next day I get up early because I want to visit the whole city by riding a bike! I also tried the trem facility, trem is a train that goes around the city so people don’t need to go uphill or downhill. Im going to stay in San Francisco for another 4 days. I’ll write more mail for you!.

Peace Out

An Email from Tokyo

Hey you!

Right now, I'm seeing blue skies and feeling a nice cool breeze pass through my cheek as the sun sets right in front of me. I can see the whole city of Tokyo from here! Guess where I am? Yup, I'm currently on top of Tokyo Tower right now. Since I've been thinking about you all day, it wasn't strange when you popped in my mind while I was seeing this magnificent view- so I decided to write you an email from my blackberry. ;)

Since this is my first time in Tokyo, Matsuyama has been dragging me all around town to show me all the famous tourist attractions and places. We woke up at the crack of dawn to take a look at the Tsukuji Fish Market, an interesting fish market that is open only from 3-6 AM! Anyways, something funny happened there. Since Matsuyama was so sleepy, he slipped and fell face first onto a pile of huge tuna fish! Way to get a wake up call!

Anyways, our self-guided tour is nowhere finished yet. I still have a bit of jetlag. But overall, I've been doing great, apart missing you. Matsuyama is a huge ball of energy-just like you. He reminds me of you too much. Why did your intensive training for the contest have to be in the holidays? :(

Gotta go-Matsuyama is screaming at me because we've got to catch the last Shinkansen to go to Kyoto after this! I'll write you again when I get there, okay. I miss you so much. <3 Bye! Dennis

Dennis Tito Writes E-mail While Doing Space Travel!

Hi Ellie!

Guess where I am writing from-the International Space Station! Yeah, this is crazy, I know! I could have write to you after I landed on Earth, but it is so cool to get an e-mail from outside the Earth, is not it? And you are my best friend! Even though I did not have enough money to take you with me, I know you will be happy getting this e-mail. I assume you will take a picture of this e-mail and make it as your display picture for a whole month. Oh, do not say you will not. Best friends know one another. ;)
Well, it was a little bit hard for me to stay conscious after leaving the Earth’s atmosphere. I got quite panic by the no-air-condition, but I soon recovered! Then I continued the journey by watching the beautiful view. Outside, I could see rocks--meteors, maybe, I am not good at this--that were on different sizes flowing. They formed a trajectory. I could also see gasses with different colors made a whirling shape. I could see stars that somehow became a little bit bigger than the stars I usually see from the Earth, even though they were still extremely far from me. I really enjoyed it. :D
I spent the rest of the journey by walking around the International Space Station. It was an awesome place and I had a great time. I am now end up here, resting in one of the rooms, writing this e-mail to you. I am very happy and grateful about this experience. This is amazing and there is nothing cooler than this journey in my whole life. The only missing thing is that you are not here. :(
I will be writing soon. Next week, probably. I have a lot more to tell about this journey but I should get back to Earth (it is really cool that I am writing “Earth”, not home) because the journey is over. By the way, do not forget our next meeting! I have been waiting for it. It sucks that we can only meet once a month. I miss you already. Take care! :)

Love,
Dennis
